A short biography
I offer virtual therapy across Ontario to adults and adolescents aged 16 and older. My work is grounded in a cultural-relational framework, recognizing that our experiences are shaped by more than our individual circumstances. The communities we belong to, the relationships we navigate, and the social and cultural environments around us all influence how we experience ourselves and the world.
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, and relationship challenges. My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and psychodynamic-informed modalities. I believe that meaningful therapeutic work begins with understanding how each person makes sense of their experiences, rather than assuming that the same approach will work for everyone.
Community is an important part of how I understand mental health and access to care. I am particularly interested in the ways language and cultural context influence how people express themselves and experience support. As an Arabic-speaking therapist, I offer sessions in both English and Arabic. I recognize that communicating in a familiar language can make room for the expressions, meanings, and nuances that may not always translate into another language. I value creating a space where clients can communicate in the way that feels most natural to them.
