Individual Therapy
Care for the version of you the world doesn't always see.
Why cultural safety matters in trauma therapy
For immigrants, refugees, and communities of colour, the experience of trauma is rarely just personal. It is layered with systemic invisibility, the weight of displacement, and the pressure to assimilate into a culture that often doesn't see the full picture of who you are. Standard therapy models — developed in predominantly white, Western settings — can unintentionally replicate the very dynamics that cause harm.
At Rubiks, we believe that healing begins when a therapist shows up not as an expert who "fixes," but as a partner who listens — deeply, humbly, and with a willingness to learn about your world. Cultural safety is not a buzzword; it is a practice we commit to in every session, every supervision, and every training we facilitate.
